Logistics Specialist for USAID Bednet Distribution Project in DRC

IMA World Health (IMA) is a faith-based non-profit organization that implements donor-funded health systems strengthening, maternal and child health, neglected tropical disease, malaria, HIV, non-communicable diseases, and sexual- and gender-based violence prevention programming in some of the most challenging settings throughout Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean. IMA maintains a diverse and complex funding portfolio made up of both donor-funded grants and contracts that support program services across those countries and totals approximately $100 million annually.  


IMA is seeking applications for a Logistics Specialist for an anticipated USAID Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) Bednet Distribution Project. The project will support the National Malaria Control Program (NMCP) in the DRC to achieve its goal of universal coverage with insecticide treated nets (ITNs). The Logistics Specialist will oversee the planning and execution of all logistics operations related to moving insecticide-treated nets (ITNs) from regional warehouses out to health zones and final distribution points.  



  • Oversee all planning and execution of logistics operations related to moving ITNs from regional warehouses to health zones and final distribution points, as well as delivering other supplies and materials from Kinshasa to the field according to established timelines.

  • Provide technical guidance to team for bednet distribution, including for transportation, storage, distribution, and logistics management.

  • Collaborate closely and coordinate with GHSC-PSM, who is responsible for delivery of ITNs to regional warehouses.

  • Develop and enact policies to ensure the physical security of ITNs during storage and transport.


The position requires a competent and experienced person with the following attributes:

  • A minimum of a Master’s Degree (or foreign equivalent) in international development, public/business administration, international relations, other social sciences, or a similar relevant field.

  • Relevant management and technical experience working with activities that are of similar scope and scale to this activity.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement supply plans; to provide technical guidance to supply chain actors; and to maintain coordination mechanisms with relevant stakeholders.

  • Experience in Africa, and the DRC or other fragile/conflict-affected country is preferred.

  • Experience in countries with weak transportation infrastructure preferred.

  • English/French language skills at a proficiency level that allows professional communication, orally and in writing, with local counterparts and USAID personnel.
