Position Summary:
DT Global is seeking a Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP)/Technical Lead candidates for the anticipated USAID-funded Indonesia Urban Climate Change Adaptation opportunity, which is expected to be a five-year $19M-$20M activity. The Activity aims to improve the resilience of urban populations through climate change adaptation and disaster preparedness. The DCOP supports the Chief of Party (COP) in overall technical management of the
project. S/he will likely be based in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Primary Responsibilities

Responsible for assisting the COP in activity oversight including technical, administrative, operational, and logistical management of the project.

Complemented by a strong team of subject matter experts, the DCOP will provide technical leadership to implementation in one or more of the following areas of expertise: climate change adaptation (CCA), disaster risk reduction (DRR), climate finance, nature-based solutions, data and information
management for CCA and/or DRR. -
Day-to-day management of the technical advisory staff to ensure activities are well designed, in accordance with contract objectives, and incorporate climate change adaptation best practices.

Leads implementation of the project in the absence of the COP.
Qualifications:
-
A bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field of study, such as environmental management, spatial planning, economics, public policy; natural, earth, or physical sciences; engineering; finance; business administration; governance; climate change adaptation, disaster resilience; urban planning or another
related field is required. A master's degree is preferred. -
At least 8 years of professional experience related to the successful implementation of large and complex development projects in climate change adaptation or resilience, disaster risk reduction, environmental management, climate finance, urban planning, nature-based solutions, or natural
resources management is required. -
Proven leadership in the management of similar size international donor support programs with skills in strategic planning, management, and staff supervision is required. USAID experience preferred.

Current and proven experience working with senior government officials, private sector leaders, and other stakeholders in climate change, disaster management, or other relevant development sectors.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are required.

Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, is required.

Relevant work experience in Indonesia is required. Experience in one or more of the eight priority provinces (North Sumatra, Banten, East Java, DKI Jakarta, East Nusa Tenggara, South Sulawesi, West Kalimantan and Papua) is preferred.

Working knowledge of Bahasa Indonesia is preferred.
