He has a proven track record engaging key audiences and stakeholders to create, strengthen, and advance a wide variety of private and public interests. Over 20 years he has met with continued success in challenging cultural, political and business environments, including: Southern, East, and West Africa, the Caucasus, Central Asia, the Balkans, West Bank/Gaza, as well as the Middle East and South Asia.
Working comprehensively in the sectors of economic growth, trade and investment promotion, energy and agribusiness, Brian has advised top-level government, private sector and donor officials in a diversity of communications and social marketing campaigns creating innovative approaches to enhance strategic positioning, competitiveness, and social impact. He has recently worked with a range of private sector partners on opportunities across Southern Africa to build value and inclusion through investments and trade promotion. His core skill sets include government affairs, public-facing strategic communications, partnership development, and client relations.
Brian also has an extensive background in program design and change management, conducting institutional and capacity needs assessments, and delivering professional-level training/facilitation in a wide variety of sectors including: stakeholder mapping, social behavior change communications, public outreach, political risk management, and media relations. He also possesses notable governance experience in the areas of civic education, voter outreach, and citizen empowerment.
