BroderickHaight is excited to offer analyst candidates a comprehensive internship that introduces recent graduates to the core, professional skills necessary for a successful career in the non-profit, international development or public sector – Grant Writing, Proposal Development, Recruitment & Communications.
BroderickHaight is a trusted partner for dozens of domestic and international implementers of all sizes seeking the strategic guidance and expertise to assess, scope, design, price, deliver, and administer competitive and innovative projects funded by large foundations or government mechanisms. We are looking for motivated interns interested in developing the panache, gravitas, project management and communication skills required to successfully work with our domestic or international clients.
Interns are expected work at least 25 hours/week for 10 weeks or a minimum of 250 hours over a 12-13 week period at a rate of $20- $25/hour. While able to set their own schedule and work remotely, interns with reliable schedules can be assigned additional responsibilities, given additional projects or accrue
additional hours. Under the regular supervision and mentoring of a senior associate, interns are given specific work orders in response to existing client work streams with detailed steps and timelines for successfully completing tasks. Some interns are invited for longer, permanent roles with BroderickHaight.
Effective Junior Analysts are introduced to clients for potential long-term roles.

With regular supervision and mentoring, Junior Program Analysts, Program Analysts, Junior Associates and Associates are given specific work orders in response to existing client work streams with detailed steps and timelines for successfully completing tasks.
At BroderickHaight, true work-life balance begins with a standard work week of 32- to 35-hours with a minimum of 24 hours. The occasional busy week is fully compensated, hour by hour. While able to set their own schedule and work remote or from client sites, our team members must provide a relatively set
schedule so team members and clients can readily and predictably reach out to discuss evolving needs. To make this flexibility possible, all team members provide metric-based, daily updates, frequent calls and end of week reports that demonstrate progress made, request additional inputs or support, and, highlight any potential upcoming challenges and opportunities. With some exceptions, potential Team Members should be based in California or the DMV. Please ask!
Junior Program Analyst (Internship) Job Responsibilities
Grant Writing & Proposal Development – 40% level of Effort

Analysis and Review of existing client funding streams, proposals and reports

Research and track public sector funding opportunities and maintain development pipeline for clients

Assessment, research and recommendations to clients about potential funders
-
Conduct desk research, gather data and materials for upcoming funding opportunities related to client priorities, context, partners and competitors.

Development of metric oriented, benchmarks, calendars and timelines for client proposals and reports

Participate in key client meetings, such as kick-off meetings, design sessions, and reviews
-
Development of proposal outlines and drafting of compelling language for specific bid opportunities.

Support the drafting, review, and editing of sections or annexes of proposals, graphics production or non-technical pieces of proposals, such as organizational charts.

Revising drafts based on feedback from assigned, supervising, senior associate and clients. Ensure the final proposals are properly edited and formatted in line with client/BHC style and branding policies and guidelines.

Contribute to BHC/client business development systems, tools, and process improvement initiatives.

Sending daily updates to assigned, supervising senior associate
Recruitment – 40% level of effort

Assist Senior Associates with recruitment efforts for various positions as required by client needs.

Support gathering, collation and updating of job descriptions, resumes and bios, candidate sourcing, sharing qualifications of candidates with technical teams for feedback, and schedule and take notes during interviews for recruitment assignments.

Daily metrics tracking of recruitment outreach and response.

Joining kick-off calls with client
-
Sourcing candidates using LinkedIn recruiter, conference attendee list, etc.

Direct personalized outreach to potential candidates

Coordinate correspondence with potential candidates and client

Join phone screenings of potential candidates
-
Organizing BHCs internal files for recruitment

Creating and cleaning excel databases – prepping for export to new database

Logging candidate responses and storing documents
-
Sending daily updates to senior associate/ client as appropriate
Communications and Business Development – 20% level of effort

Supporting creation or updating of marketing materials, websites, broadcasts and narrowcasts

Supporting updating or maintenance of BHC social media activities
-
Supporting development of materials for client work order requests
-
Supporting client communications for upcoming events
Qualifications
-
BA from an accredited university in a related field.
-
Proven interest in domestic non-profit, public sector or international development implemented.

Ability to remain calm, pleasant and productive under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.

Ability to be flexible with schedule, work independently and remotely.

Strong communication skills, including writing skills.

Excellent time management skills, organization, and planning

Strong Microsoft Office skills required.

English language fluency required.

Preference given to:
-
Work or academic background in non-profit, public sector or international development.

Experience in recruiting desired.

Foreign language proficiency preferred.
