Banyan Global is recruiting a Private Sector Engagement Team Leader for the anticipated USAID-funded Partnerships for Productivity Activity to commence in 2022. The Activity will address the misalignment between training graduates and the competency and skills needed to succeed in the workplace. Specifically, the program will aim to enhance private sector firms’ collaboration and partnership with TVET (Technical and vocational training and education) institutions to enhance workforce development programs.

The Private Sector Team Leader will be responsible for identifying and collaborating with Indonesian and international businesses to plan and implement vocational training programs. He/she will lead private sector-focused capacity building efforts. The position is full-time, based in Jakarta, and contingent on funding. Only Indonesian candidates will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all project planning and implementation related to private sector engagement; capacity building; and leveraging private resources toward vocational training.

  • Serve as a project liaison with the private sector and public/private TVETs.

  • Provide technical leadership around the capacity building of businesses to plan and implement vocational training (human resources development) programs to better align with market requirements; and to facilitate partnerships among private sector firms with public and private TVETs, including leveraging resources and commitments around project priorities.

  • Ensure the quality and timeliness of project deliverables and work products related to private sector engagement and capacity building.

  • Directly or indirectly supervise all project staff and consultants working on private sector engagement and capacity building.

  • Ensure adherence to all relevant U.S. government and Banyan Global policies throughout project implementation.

  • Support the development of the project’s USAID work plan, reports and deliverables.

  • Mentor and coach staff to support their professional development and application of skills and knowledge.

  • Demonstrates diplomacy and leadership to foster an atmosphere of teamwork, productivity, creativity, fairness, equity, and innovation, and support for diversity.

  • Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Indonesian citizen.

  • At least 8 years of proven technical experience related to (i) private sector engagement strategies to plan and implement vocational training programs; and (ii) developing partnerships among private sector firms with TVETs to align their curriculum to market needs.

  • Leadership experience in designing and delivering vocational training curriculum development and capacity building efforts.

  • Experience working directly with Indonesia’s private sector.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex teams to meet deliverables, demonstrating outstanding supervisory, interpersonal and teamwork skills.

  • Technical experience on donor-funded vocational training programs.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
