Banyan Global is seeking a Team Leader/ Chief of Party for an upcoming USAID-funded project. Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in gender and agriculture in developing countries, with specific experience in gender-sensitive and gender-transformative agricultural and food systems programming, research and monitoring and evaluation, and gender-mainstreaming in the food security sector.



  • Provide technical leadership, guidance, and oversight related to gender and agricultural development and use of best practices.

  • Provide guidance and capacity building to USAID staff and country offices on best practices to integration of gender into program design and management.

  • Support the implementation of interventions to promote and support women’s participation in agricultural development programs.

  • Advise USAID on cutting edge and innovative methods to address persistent and complex challenges to women’s empowerment in agriculture and food systems.

  • Design and provide oversight of technical assignments related to gender and agriculture, and oversee the completion of all technical deliverables.

  • Design and deliver training and other capacity building efforts for adult learners in gender and agriculture.

  • Contribute to content and communications support to knowledge management efforts related to gender and agricultural development.


  • Master’s degree or higher in agricultural development, economics, agronomy, gender and development, social science, or related field.

  • At least 5 years of experience working with USAID.

  • Ten years of experience implementing gender-sensitive or gender-transformative agricultural and food systems programming in developing countries.

  • Ten years of experience leading gender research or monitoring and evaluation in agricultural development programs.

  • Ten years of experience gender-mainstreaming in the food security sector.

  • Minimum three years of experience leading and providing technical, administrative and management oversight for large and complex international development donor-funded activities as Project Manager/Director, Chief of Party, Deputy Chief of Party, or comparable other management role.

  • Strong management skills, writing skills, and interpersonal skills.
