Banyan Global is recruiting a Deputy Chief of Party for the anticipated USAID-funded Partnerships for Productivity Activity to commence in 2022. The Activity will address the mismatch between training graduates and the competency and skills needed to succeed in the workplace. Specifically, the program will aim to enhance private sector firms’ collaboration and partnership with TVET (Technical and vocational training and education) institutions to enhance workforce development programs.

The Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) will be responsible for the operational, contractual, and financial compliance of services delivered under the award. The position is full-time, based in Jakarta, and contingent on funding. Only Indonesian candidates will be considered.

 

Responsibilities

  • The Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) will work with the Chief of Party (COP) to manage the program's implementation and oversee the performance, management, and operations (finance, contracts, grants, etc.).

  • The DCOP is expected to assist the Chief of Party in interacting with a range of stakeholders representing the project to USAID, the private sector, host country officials, and other relevant stakeholders.

  • Oversee project grants operations, including developing a project grants manual and ensuring streamlined approval and oversight procedures.

  • Assist with high-quality, timely and complete submission of work plans, financial reports, performance reports, etc.

  • Serve as a human resource manager for the project team.

  • Ensure adherence to all relevant U.S. government, Banyan Global, and host country rules, regulations, and laws, including those related to procurement and labor and employment.

  • Serve as liaison and representative of Banyan Global to its headquarters in Washington, DC for all budget, financial management, contractual and operational issues.

  • Oversee project budgeting and ensure transparency and quality control of project financial management.

  • Demonstrates diplomacy and leadership to foster an atmosphere of teamwork, productivity, creativity, fairness, equity, and innovation, and support for diversity.

  • Other related duties as assigned.

 

Job requirements

  • Indonesian citizen.

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience working in international development with experience managing the contracts, finances, and operations of a USAID project, working in a supervisory capacity.

  • Demonstrated experience with USAID policies and regulations, including grants and partner management.

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a field related to workforce development such as education, economics, business, international development, organizational development; master’s preferred.

  • Leadership experience on USAID or other donor-funded activities in Indonesia.

  • Strong organizational and financial management skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, including professional fluency in written and spoken Indonesian; English preferred.
