Banyan Global operates seamlessly within six practice areas: youth and workforce development, finance and investment, enterprise development, gender, health, and evaluation and learning.

 

Banyan Global is recruiting a Chief of Party for the anticipated USAID-funded Partnerships for Productivity Activity to commence in 2022.  The Activity will address the mismatch between training graduates and the competency and skills needed to succeed in the workplace. Specifically, the program will aim to enhance private sector firms’ collaboration and partnership with TVET (Technical and vocational training and education) institutions to enhance workforce development programs.

 

The Chief of Party will be responsible for the technical, contractual, and financial compliance and performance of services delivered under the award. The position is full-time, based in Jakarta, and contingent on funding. Only Indonesian candidates will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all project planning and implementation.

  • Serve as the primary liaison with and represent the project to USAID, the private sector, host country officials, and other relevant stakeholders.

  • Provide overall technical and administrative leadership in all areas of the project, including: (i) capacity building of the private sector to plan and implement vocational training (human resources development) programs to improve workforce productivity; (ii) facilitate partnerships among private sector firms with public and private TVETs to support vocational training programs/activities; and (iii) enhance regulations and guidelines related to the utilization/implementation of tax deductions/incentives for vocational training/human resource development programs.

  • Lead strategy development and implementation of private and public sector engagement driving results

  • Ensure the quality and timeliness of all contract deliverables and work products.

  • Directly or indirectly manage a diverse team of staff and consultants to deliver impact within established timelines.

  • Ensure adherence to all relevant U.S. government, Banyan Global, and host country rules, regulations, and laws, including those related to procurement and labor and employment.

  • Mentor and coach staff to support their professional development and application of skills and knowledge.

  • Serve as liaison and representative of Banyan Global to its headquarters in Washington, DC.

  • Demonstrates diplomacy and leadership to foster an atmosphere of teamwork, productivity, creativity, fairness, equity, and innovation, and support for diversity.

  • Other related duties as assigned.

 

Requirements

  • Indonesian citizen.

  • Previous Chief of Party experience or equivalent (e.g., Team Leader, Country Director) on a USAID-funded award.

  • At least 10 years of technical experience related to (i) private sector engagement strategies to plan and implement vocational training programs; (ii) developing partnerships among private sector firms with TVETs to align their curriculum to market needs; and (iii) streamline and strengthen policies that govern Indonesia’s vocational training sector.

  • Leadership experience in designing and successfully delivering donor-funded vocational training or workforce development programs.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex teams to meet deliverables, demonstrating outstanding supervisory, interpersonal and teamwork skills.

  • Demonstrated success in designing and implementing innovative solutions to workforce development challenges in complex environments.

  • Ability to effectively interact with government counterparts, local organizations and private sector executives.

  • Master’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university in a field related to workforce development (e.g. education, economics, business, international development, organizational development), or proven commensurate experience.

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, including professional fluency in written and spoken Indonesian and English
